I know people have strong opinions about the health care law, and
normally I wouldn't post political stuff here on the family blog, but I
thought you might be interested in this. Back when the Supreme Court
heard
oral arguments on the health care law, it was pretty clear that some of
the justices had serious concerns with the government's primary argument
that the law was constitutional under the Commerce Clause of the
Constitution. I thought it would be interesting to see if a
different argument could be made for the constitutionality of the law. I
spent some time on it and came up with something. I thought it was good
enough to post online, which I did on April 10th. It turns out that
Chief Justice Roberts independently arrived at basically the same
conclusion I did, that the law is constitutional under the Taxing and
Spending Clause. Anyway, it's a bit long, but here
