Annual Hunting Report

Herewith is the annual report for the Tidd Hunting Corporation for the hunting year ending November 25, 2010.

We are pleased to report that in 2010 there was a 25% increase in hunters (as compared to 2009) from 4 to 5, including Bill Tidd, John Tidd, Jeff Tidd, John Henrie and Sam Henrie.

Unfortunately, the total deer harvest decreased 100% compared to 2009, from 1 to 0.

President Bill Tidd was quoted as saying "I'm pleased overall with our performance this year. We executed quite well given the difficult environment."

CFO John Tidd stated "Although we were not profitable this year, we are investing heavily in R&D such as game cameras and pine bough blinds to ensure success in the future."

Tidd Hunting Corp is involved in several minor law suits related to dumping lobster shells in local streams, shooting squirrels and pouring doe in heat urine on competitors' vehicles. Corporate legal counsel John Henrie said, "We believe all these claims to be baseless, and plan to defend ourselves vigorously."

Newcomer and rising star Sam Henrie had a great year, but was quoted as saying "After what I observed this year at Tidd Hunting Corp headquarters in Millinocket Maine, I highly recommend all employees take the Brian Downs training course offered in Virginia. Personally, I need to read three or four hunting magazines immediately to cleanse my mind of what I saw."

Warning: This report contains certain forward-looking statements that imply that hunting success might occur in the future. Consult with your hunting advisor before believing any of this.

Following are some photos of the hunt....

Another reason to visit

Emmaline, Elliot and I took a quick trip up to Yellowstone last weekend. It's only a five hour drive - you could easily include it as part of your UT trip...

Yellowstone is basically a big volcano. Over 2/3 of all geysers in the world are there. Elliot had some concern that the volcano was gonna blow while we were there but fortunately that didn't happen. We did get a picture of him in front of a geyser spewing 200+ degree water - hotter than boiling water because of the pressure.

Photos of some highlights below.... we saw a momma grizzly (no, not Sarah Palin) and two cubs but unfortunately didn't get a photo of that...

Progress Report on River Road House

The big news is that the roof is on and here's the proof!

This first picture is taken from the east side. The front door is left of center and will have a small roof over it. This picture is from the north side--the dining room is rotated 15% affording us the best view of the stream. A tarp is covering the window (yet to come) where a window seat & table will be. A dormer peeks out of the master bedroom.
This is the street view (south). As you can see, the roof is watertight but not shingled. Work has begun on the stairs.

Who doesn't like pumpkins?

Well, apparently Ava doesn't...
Kathleen and I find this picture extremely funny, does this make us bad parents? Hope everyone is doing well!

Love,

Allan & Kathleen

Summer's End at Allison and Pete's in Springfield

Saturday, Sept 4th, Nathan, Diana and the kiddies plus Allan, Kathleen and Ava arrived in NH for Labor Day weekend. Dad, Cy and I meandered over to Springfield to visit with them at Pete and Allison's. I'm sorry I don't have a picture of the new patio Allison has constructed...perhaps another post?

Hurricane Earl decided to give us a break and we enjoyed dinner cooked over a wood fire with the scent of apples in the crisp fall air while girls ran around having a grand time. Lach held down the fort for all the Tidd Boys.

Melanie, Bill & family are at the island this weekend, but Melanie sent over handmade blankets for the newest members of the family. Here Diana shows everyone Lach's new blue blanket and Ava uses her pretty pink one right away.

Please note Cy on the left...he does not arrive at family gatherings dressed in white.

I begged and begged and then...walla! in a puff of smoke (or is that Pete cooking?) a Biker Scout appears...

Ava knows for sure that she is one lucky girl to have her very own Star Wars Biker Scout for an uncle.Allison got frisked to make sure she didn't have her camera to record this, but no one asked Grampa--here are Annika, Margaret and Sophie getting to share the hammock with Eleanor, Leslie and Libby--that means it's a BIG hammock!

Darkness fell and we headed home full of good times and good food while sensing the end of a beautiful summer. If you have scrolled down this far...it's The End of this post.

End of Summer

Me, Andrew & Panda are on our own in NH - so with nothing to do I've caught up on some photos.

Here's a photo I took of Dad today in his Pro Construction Worker outfit... he's not screwing around...

James' deer came back from the taxidermist... I would have liked a photo of James with the deer but I was too slow - he's in Utah now....

James, Andrew & I cleared some land to open up a view... the first photo is before...

and here's the current view...

What A Birthday!

Dawn arrived on my 65th birthday and off I went for my usual hike, but after that the day was anything BUT the usual. Dad and I headed to the airport in Manchester to fly to California.

Nathan and Diana have a home in Sacramento and we were staying with them for a couple days to test out their new pool. They were arriving a little after we were from NYC with all four kiddies for a week in the sun and being wonderful hosts.

North of there, up in Squaw Valley, John started the Western States Endurance Race--100 miles in 24 hours--at 5 AM. Bill flew in from San Diego, where Melanie's folks were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, to run the last 20 miles with him. Luciana was doing the heavy task of being John's main support during the race.

Below is a picture of John finishing the race with Luciana and Bill. He finished 46th (almost 500 started the race) in 21 hours.

Congratulations John!

Luciana has done an album of the race:

PLEASE NOTE: John finished the race two hours after my birthday ended.

Down in Sacramento Lach is enjoying being six months old and getting lots of love from his sisters, Annika, Margaret and Sophie, parents, aunts, uncles and assorted cousins plus anyone else he comes in contact with. Below is a picture of him trying to decide if he is more buff than the model in the picture. We think he is WAY cuter.

Back east (in Boston) Kathleen has been induced on the 26th, but the baby is not born until the morning of the 27th...just about half an hour after John finished the race. I know they both tried to 'finish' on my birthday, but...

PLEASE NOTE: Avangeline Elizabeth Anderson was born 2 1/2 hours after my birthday ended.

Ava is a total beauty--check her out with her proud Dad. In this picture she is one week old. Kudo's to Kathleen--well done!

Avangeline Elizabeth Anderson

Hello Everyone!

I've finally figured out how to post on a blog... I must be the least computer savvy in the bunch! (or I just have a newborn...)

Avangeline Elizabeth Anderson was born on 6/27/10 at 5:27am. She was 7lbs 14oz and 20 inches. An extremely long experience at the hospital but Kathleen did great and it was all worth it.

I hope everyone is doing well and I will post more photos (as soon as I learn how to upload them to my computer...)

Moab

Well, there's certainly bigger family stories developing, but I'm finally getting around to posting these photos from our trip to Moab, UT, so here they are.

John, Andrew, James and I took three days to tour Arches & Canyonlands National Parks.

This will hopefully be an incentive for others to visit UT!

Dog Lovers Win New Converts

For years we have wondered why anyone would endure the hassles of owning a dog. The barking, the barfing, the butt licking. Stealing entire roasts off the counter. The expense.

Who would guess that our family would giddily clean up poop all the way from Missouri to Utah, laugh happily as James got wee'd on in his sleep, and write checks with abandon. All for our new dog Panda!
